ArtU 2+2

If you are currently pursuing—or considering—an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree at Academy of Art University, there’s an added benefit you’ll be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. Credits from your AAS degree will transfer to a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree*, if and when you decide to earn one at the Academy. We call this ArtU 2+2 (two years of initial study to earn your AAS, plus another two years of study to earn a Bachelor’s degree). ArtU 2+2 ensures that all of your educational efforts are maximized to your advantage.

*The Automotive Restoration AAS degree is a terminal degree; credits do not transfer to the Industrial Design BFA program.

3-Dimensional Studio Arts

This is more than technique. It’s a translation of thought into form.

The Associate of Arts in Science 3-Dimensional Studio Arts is where 3D fine art takes form—metal arts, jewelry, figurative works in clay, ceramic sculpture. Each material offers its own resistance, its own rhythm. You’ll learn to move with them. Shape them. Speak through them.

This program builds fluency in technical skill, critical thinking, and creative expression. You’ll think with your hands—solving spatial problems, refining design choices, and making ideas tangible. Choose your emphasis. Hone your voice.

Automotive Restoration

Restore the Past. Build the Future.

In the Automotive Restoration program*, you’ll master the art and science of bringing vintage vehicles accurately back to life. From woodwork and machine work to sheet metal shaping, disassembly, and assembly, you’ll train in every phase of restoration—and do it as part of a team recreating history.

In our program, restoration isn’t abstract, it’s hands-on. You’ll study one-of-a-kind classics up close: the leather, the lines, the subtleties of fenders, bumpers, doors, and bodies. At the Academy, you learn by touch, by technique, and by using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the world’s most iconic machines.
