Daniel Burt is a San Francisco-based artist whose practice spans sculpture, ceramics, and mixed media. With over 14 years of experience at the Academy of Art University, Burt blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary innovation, exploring themes of human connection and shared experience through material and form.

As a program director, Burt has played a key role in shaping the Academy’s sculptural arts curriculum—collaborating with accreditation boards, developing new programs, and reimagining course structures to foster both technical mastery and creative confidence in students.

His studio expertise includes ceramic sculpture, mold making, bronze casting, woodworking, and digital modeling. Equally committed to cultivating safe, inclusive, and collaborative studio environments, Burt champions professional practices that support artistic growth and exploration.

Burt’s work has been exhibited in galleries and museums across California, including the De Young Museum, 111 Minna gallery the Midway Gallery, the Chinese Historical Society Museum of America and more. His pieces are held in both public and private collections. Whether mentoring emerging artists or creating his own work, Burt’s approach is rooted in storytelling, artistic integrity, and a deep respect for the evolving dialogue between tradition and innovation.
